Veteran’s Hunt

Joshua 1:9

“I have commanded you, ‘Be strong and courageous! Don’t tremble or be terrified, because the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’”

Our story.

Every year, during the last weekend of May, Kicking Bear Kansas invites several veterans and their families to spend some time at the Gyp Hills Guest Ranch in Barber County prior to the community’s annual Kicking Bear Camp which is held at the beginning of June. During the guests’ week long visit, they participate in a wild turkey hunt throughout Barber County, using local guides and hunting areas located near Medicine Lodge.

The veterans can also participate in building relationships with the Kicking Bear campers by sharing their challenges and triumphs. This is only a small way Barber County thanks these men and women for the large sacrif ice they have so unself ishly made for us.

How you can help.

These unforgettable experiences cannot be accomplished without help from you! An account with the Medicine Lodge United Methodist Church has been established. Contributions of any amount can be made to the UMC marked for “Veteran’s Hunt.” Those who are able to donate will have their name acknowledged on our Sponsor’s Board. We thank you for your generosity!
